Bhangra was awesome, though... would have been better in the air conditioning, but I guess we got the real Indian experience! -

Fri, May 16, 2008 - 9:09 AMUnfortanutely Ladies and Gentlemen we are not expecting alot of wind this weekend from an off shore air flow. Due to the high pressure system that came in. This is what the lovely weather guy said last night. Drink lots of WATER!!! Also, drink a good quanity of water at night before you head to bed this will allow the water to get in to your system and help you feel better the next day. A good old military saying: Drink water beat the Heat!

Things like ice cream, though they are cold and yummy (mmm...death by chocolate...mmm) the amount of sugar (i.e. a lot) will cause your body to become HOTTER not cooler. After about 30 minutes or so your body temp will increase in order to process the sugar.
Just some FYI. Drink lots of water. Juices are good, but again, be careful of the sugar quantity. Fresh fruits are an excellent way to cool down. Apples and grapes (put the grapes in the freezer for a while and then snack on them) are great because of their high water content.
Also, chilled pickles are a great water filled snack as are cucumbers.

Sun, May 18, 2008 - 9:19 AMIn case you didn't already hear, Heather, we had 106 in Santa Rosa on Thursday, 102 on Friday, and 85 yesterday (much more tolerable! though my sunburn made me feel like it was still in the hunnies!)
The breeze helped a lot yesterday. Vendors seemed perkier! -

Sun, May 18, 2008 - 11:01 AMAhhh, I miss the heat. Being an Arizona born and raised girl, I grew up in 110+ heat. I loved it and still do. I got to go back to phoenix 3years ago and spent most of my time in the sun. I do well in the heat :)
With lots of water, of course :)~

Good call on parasols. It is *so* hot. Thanks so much to BSBD for selling water for only $1 rather than $10, like so many people/places would. I find it depressing that showing class like that is almost unexpected. But, seriously, thanks so much for that. <3
