Aloha All!
Seba and I just recently returned from a weekend festival up in the 'burbs of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was the weekend before Rakkasah.
It was so great to hang with Amy and Kerry of Unmata, just across the hall from us in the hotel. Bellyqueen was there, too!
It was hosted by Marthyna of Les Tribelles, the first Tribal group in their area. They taught as well.
All was great, except - such drama! I don't know how ppl. who live in snow do it. I'm sure I'd go stark raving mad! LOL! But they handle it like nothing much at all.
We experienced the most snow at that time of year in, some said, 70 years! (Others said 3, another 30, but you get the idea.)
We almost didn't make it to our show - our seansoned driver got stuck on the way outta the hotel! But they called in a 4-wheel drive and, yes, the show did go on!
The snow pics are form outside the hotel and one of the teaching venues.
bbbbbrrrrrrrr and baaaaaaaaaah!
Thank you Seba, for all your help and hard work and for dancin' w/ me!!!!! I love you SOOO much! Hey, I think your camera took better pix of the "jail cell" backstage... would you send 'em our way, please? xoxox
and dear one Amy, if you see this, know I loved our talk! Must reprise! couldda stayed up all night - and that's rare for me - you don't know how much so !!! - but knew all you kids had an early mornin'....... in retrospect, I shouldda kept ya'll up! LOL!
much love to one and all,
Kajira
p.s. - the 3 show pix were taken by Marthyna's neice, isabelle Jette - great photog, eh?

Re: BellyDance as an Extreme Sport
Mon, March 24, 2008 - 11:57 AMIt was super cold and snowy but I had a great time!!! It was nice to experience the snow and then it was great to come home to warm and sunshiny California!! Thank you Les Tribelles for the great event and for getting us safely around. And Amy and Kerry...I had a great time hanging out with you before the event started. Next time...we leave for the airport just a little earlier though...it is the closest call I have ever had at an airport!!!
