What the deal? Is it fun? Is it warm enough? Do people hang out? This is my first TF, so not sure how things work. I do have a hotel reservation in a nearby town, but am considering camping instead.

Total bummer, because we had an awesome camp last year. -

They had a change of ownership that hadn't wanted tent camping but they changed their minds. Yay! So I'll see Cat and Nyx there again and meet the rest of you - it'll be great.
Rosanna, I would totally encourage you to camp.

Fri, April 25, 2008 - 9:28 PMI camped last year too, and was really disappointed when I called 2 months ago to make my reservations for this year only to be told that tent camping was nixed this year (for all, not just Tribal Fest-ers). I was told to call closer to the date I wanted to come, just in case the new owners changed their minds. All that said, I called today and got my reservations. I was jumping up and down at work 'cause I get to camp again! YAY! Not only fun, but this gives me more cash for shopping!

Is there any one willing to let me pitch a tent next to theirs so I'm not camping by my little ol lonesome (I'm a safety first kind of gal, and if I have to choose between camping alone and putting a $2, easily smashable deadbolt between myself and the bad guys, I'll probably go for the deadbolt...at least gives me a fighting chance to claw their eyes out...) -

Sun, April 27, 2008 - 1:23 PMKatrina, I don't think we of the Badi'a group would mind you camping next to us for safety's sake. I'll be rolling in on Friday around 4 p.m. to set up camp; not sure about when my cohorts are getting there. We'll be the ones with pirate flags and such (and our dome tent has its own awning).
There are showers at the campground and the bathrooms (while a slight trek in the middle of the night) were very clean, with very clean showers. Surprisingly nice. There can be some "interesting" people there, but we had NO problems last year at all with anyone. We just locked our valuables in our cars during the day.

Hours: Seasonal Campground and RV Park Open May 1 Thru October 31 Office Hours: 9:00 a.m. - Noon and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Let me know how to hook up with you guys (the bf will be pleased he need not camp for the week. Love the guy to death but he is a hard core computer/techno geek. A week without WOW could possibly end our relationship...)
